Olatunde, who started export business on a small scale and became profitable with it within a short while using his business acumen and digital marketing skills said one of the limiting factors in non-oil exports is the shortage of important information, access to credible buyers and trust.

The Nigeria Export Workshop started as an online training after some selected youths, were picked and trained for several weeks before the demand for a live workshop became very imperative according to the demand of the participants. He said: “The Nigeria Export Workshop is a timely one, which will help youths, graduates, civil servants and even retirees to gain the crucial knowledge in starting an exporting business.”

As part of the solution to solve the problem of getting credible foreign buyers, the Nigeria Export Workshop Team is building a global e-commerce platform; Bamitaja.com, that would boost export trade relations between Nigeria and the rest of the world as well as ‎increase Nigeria’s participation in global trade.

“If Nigeria must become the exporting nation rather than the import dumping ground it is already, then there is great value and benefits in deploying technology to promote Nigeria’s trade to the world.” Olatunde Said.

According to him, Bamitaja.com is coming at a time when Nigeria seriously needs forex from export as a way of diversifying the economy, and strengthening the non-oil sector. We will use our strong technology and digital marketing skills to promote Nigeria exporters and SMEs to the world, while participating in export business ourselves.

He also said the e-commerce platform, that has already gulped thousands of dollars in beta testing, was a bold and aggressive attempt at stimulating investment flows between Nigeria and the rest of the world.
