Time is Money – Manage It

Time-is-Money1“Time is money” is a phrase used by almost everyone. In our everyday life, the time we spend on a particular thing determines the productivity we get from it.

We all have the same time but the way we use it vary from person to person and likewise the money we get from the time we spend on  something also varies. Lets take a look at Bill Gates who makes about $200,000 an hour depending on how Microsoft’s stock is doing. Though this was achieved overtime, but the amount of time he invested in his work made him what he is today.

There is a saying that,  Time is the most precious thing in the world, for once lost, it can never be recovered. Another saying goes thus that ‘Time and tide wait for no man’. These statements actually expresses the importance of time. Money can be recovered if we work harder than before but time can never be regained if lost.

In our everyday life, every second matters, if we waste a second in our life, we will be depriving ourselves of the reward of our productivity. Take for instance if you have a business meeting and you keep the clients waiting, there is a high possibility you loose the business contract. Or if you are late to your work place, you may be fired which means not having any means of income.

When we also consider the time we spend on calls, it actually takes a longer, so why not just send a mail which saves you some time. We must respect time, not only ours but others. Procrastinating about things keeps productivity low. Lets watch the amount of time we dedicate to irrelevant things like gossiping or even watching TV which does not add any benefit to us.

We all have 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 52 weeks a year, examine what you have been to achieve in a day, then a week, then a month and finally in a year and you will be able to determine if you are productive or not. Everyone should manage their because ‘time is money’.
