Google Launches First SmartPhone with KitKat

Nexus 5 + KitKatOn Thursday, 31st October a LG-manufactured smartphone, Nexus 5 was launched by Google. its a first of its kind for Google because of the Operating system the phone came with.

The smartphone comes with an Android operating system known as Kitkat or Android 4.4. Nexus 5 has a 5-inch full HD 1080p display which gives the smartphone its sharpness.

Nexus 5 also has a quad-core 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, an 8-megapixel camera rear-facing camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Other features include a dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC.

The Smartphone will be available in two versions the, 16GB and 32GB and will have 2,300 mAh and 3,000 mAh batteries respectively. The prizes is cheaper compared with Samsung Galaxy Note 3($724.99), HTC one ($599.99) and Apple’s Phone ($649).

For 16GB, the price is $349 while for 32GB, it cost $399 and will be available in about 10 countries.

Nexus 5 also comes with some extra features from Kitkat, it has a more powerful search engine, adds support for third-party cloud services like Box so you can see files stored on the device and in the cloud.

The release of Nexus 5 will actually bring competition between Google, Samsung, HTC and Apple, this is due to the price difference and the features that accompanies each device.
