On Wednesday, Google launched a prepaid debit card that will allow consumers to purchase goods at stores and to withdraw cash from ATM machines.
The debit card is currently available in the United States. But it can be used at different locations that accept MasterCard.
The prepaid card is available for free for all Google wallet users. Google wallet is a mobile application available for all smartphones users. The Wallet card is linked to your bank account and you can easily pay for your transactions by making use of the Card.
Google Wallet users can request for the card at wallet.google.com, or from the Wallet mobile app. The card will arrive through mail within 10 to 12 days once the request approved.
This initiative will help advance Google’s role in Commerce and provide the company with valuable information about consumer shopping habits.
Data that will be gotten from transactions made with the new Google card includes; a description of goods purchased, the amount of the transaction and the name and address of the seller. This data will be an internal profile that Google maintains for users of its services and can be used to target ads.
