Speakers at the 2nd edition of the BrowseDotCom Conference 2014 have advised the participants and tech startups to combine technology solutions with business ideas. The Conference which started by 9:30 was attended by tech-savvy youths who started showing up at the registration desk as early as 8:00 a.m.
One of the speakers, Tomi Davies, Chairman of the Lagos Angel Network explained to the participants, the importance of using the P.O.E.M framework in writing a business plan. Understanding the P.O.E.M framework which stands for Proposition, Organization, Economy, Milestone would help a startup to write a clear business plan which could be helpful in convincing a potential investor.
Oyedokun Oyewole, Chairman of Rima Foundation, talked about the importance of record keeping and the various career opportunities they could tap into in the Information Management Industry. Marek Zmyslowski, Gbenga Sesan, Benita Okojie and Ope Banwo also spoke on various online business and social media opportunities available for them.
Some of the youths were given an award for successfully completing the free ICT training workshop organized by BrowseDotCom few weeks before the conference. The certificate of award was presented to the youths by the conference organizer, Olatunde Wealth and Marek Zmyslowski. Speaking about the ICT training workshop, Olatunde noted that the the ICT training workshop is the flagship of the ICT agenda for the Ajegunle-Apapa Community. More youths would be trained and equip with ICT and fundamental capacity building subsequently.
