By providing 500 young people in Kogi State with training in a variety of skill-building initiatives, the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) has made a significant contribution to combating unemployment and promoting economic growth. The goal of this program is to provide young Nigerians the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the rapidly changing energy industry and beyond.
Important topics like entrepreneurship, electricity repair, and solar panel installation were covered in the program. In order to improve their technical and management abilities and ensure that they can launch and maintain firms on their own, participants underwent practical lessons. This strategy supports Nigeria’s energy goals while also advancing ECN’s mission to empower young people in the country to be self-sufficient.
During the program’s debut, the Energy Commission’s Director-General emphasised the significance of developing a workforce with expertise in renewable energy, especially in rural areas where access to electricity is still difficult. He emphasised how important it is for Nigeria’s economic diversification and sustainable energy development to equip young people with these skills.
Recipients conveyed their appreciation for the chance, pointing out that the program gave them employable and instantly usable abilities. The project is an example of how skill-building initiatives may combat unemployment and produce a new generation of independent businesspeople who will advance the country.
