Driven by the need for innovative ways to revolutionize learning in Nigeria, Etisalat Nigeria, has launched a child-friendly educational product called Cliqlite.
Etisalat’s Cliqlite is a first of its kind package in Nigeria under the Easycliq product family, specially designed for children between the ages of 8 to 15 years; it provides unique features and an intuitive interface for e-learning.
Speaking at the launch held at the Oriental Hotel Lagos, Chief Commercial Officer and Acting CEO of Etisalat Nigeria, Mr. Matthew Willsher stated that “Etisalat is driven by a sustained commitment to enriching customer experience. Innovation remains part of our DNA and we believe technology has the potential to revolutionise learning. Children have an insatiable appetite for technology and innovation, worldwide a significant number of online users are under the age of 18, it is therefore our responsibility as parents to make sure our future generation is equipped with the right tools to successfully harness and hone their burgeoning potential. It is on this ethos that we present our younger customers with Cliqlite, our new educational tool which will no doubt pave new ways of learning”.
Also speaking at the launch, Director, Consumer Segment, Etisalat Nigeria, Oluwole Rawa noted that Etisalat’s Cliqlite was especially designed with parents and children in mind, one of the innovations that came out of this customer centric approach are the important security features which assure parents that their children are safe and only interact with appropriate content while browsing the internet.
“Cliqlite is a revolutionary product in Nigeria; it comes with pre-installed educational content that allows children to have access to a world of learning possibilities. Educational websites like passnownow are accessible even without an active data connection. Parents can also worry less about what information their children are exposed to when they are given an internet enabled device like the Cliqlite tablet or Cliqlite phone because of the level of parental control that comes with these devices”.
Africa has become one of the most dynamic e-learning markets in the world with an overall growth rate for self-paced e-learning of 15.2%. Studies also show that e-learning has the power to increase information retention rates by up to 60%. In addition to this over 30% of internet users in Nigeria are under age of 18.
Etisalat recently launched two revolutionary Experience Centres in Abuja and Lagos, reinforcing its continuous commitment to redefine the status quo of Quality of Service in Nigeria. Trained Etisalat Geeks are available at these Experience Centres to provide parents and children with live hands-on demos of the Cliqlite educational tool.
