Since the appearance of a mystery lake ‘Orimiri Jordan’ (Jordan River) appeared in Enugu State last year, thousands of Nigerians, both young and old desperate for divine solutions to their plethora of woes, have been thronging the mysterious lake, which was rumoured to have healing powers. For some, it worked according to their faith: The blind saw. The sick got healed. The lame walked. Though no miracles were recorded as at the time journalists visited the place, people seen bathing in that mud were said to have faith that the miracle they seek for will happen sooner or later.

However, the purpose of this article is not about the mysterious lake but about how the discovery of the lake have become a great business opportunity for some smart individuals. At the junction leading to the location of the lake, a new and busy motor park, business opportunities are booming around the lakeside. Photographers, petty traders, hawkers, food vendors, transporters and okada riders are seen battling for customers. According to an Okada man in the video below, he makes about N10,000 daily and he’s so happy about it. Other people who spoke behind the camera also confessed to be making as much as N5000 daily since the discovery of the lake.

What this mean is that; Health is a serious problem in Nigeria and people are desperate for solution to their health problems. Also, Miracle is a “hot cake” in Nigeria too. No wonder Pastors that are said to perform diverse miracles are always rich. Watch the video about the lake and share your thoughts below.
